One to One English


We are seeking enthusiastic and open-minded volunteers to work with an adult learner to improve their English skills.  One to One English tutors will be matched with an adult learner where English is not their primary language.  Volunteers commit to a minimum of 13 hours of compulsory training initially and 1-2 hours of weekly tutoring for a minimum of 6 months thereafter.

The Volunteer Tutor will work closely with their adult learner on the areas of English that they would like improved.  It also provides individuals with opportunities to make individual connections with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and learn about other cultures.

  • Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview with our Community Development Coordinator. Please note that applications will be assessed against the Selection Criteria as they are received and interviews conducted during March, 2017
